Sinking Jakarta. But you don't ask 'why?'

I've watched this youtube video:

Move over Venice, Jakarta is the world's fastest sinking city. Gordon Buchanan explores the below sea level areas of Jakarta.

Scene looked very good. It's really entertaining.
Suddenly, I realised that Jakarta is sinking, it means so many people will lose their home. So how could I entertain about it?

So I felt something, completely, utterly wrong with what I watched.. Was I expressed too much? I don't think so.
* I am not saying this youtube video is terrible. It served one very important thing--awareness about the situation--sinking Jakarta.--make people to aware of this issue.

Jakarta is sinking youtube video is for just exploring the area.. Unfortunately, that's all there is...
So you have to ask yourself "Why?" or "How?"...

So I strongly suggest to watch CGTN's documentary below because this youtube video talked about a lots of things.

The Indonesian capital of Jakarta is home to 10 million people but it is also one of the fastest-sinking cities in the world. If left unchecked, parts of the megacity could be entirely submerged by 2050. Flooding is frequent in Jakarta as it sits on swampy land, with 13 rivers running through the city. Silkina Ahluwalia spoke to experts and scientists to see how rapid the city is sinking, and what the government is doing to tackle the problem.

I'm not saying this documentary reveal all the issues. But I'm sure that it did ask 'fundamental question'?...The questions like "Why Jakarta is sinking?" and "How to stop the sinking?"

I'm pretty sure that BBC was so famous that people probably watched more from the BBC. But you can see the difference - total views and like:

And you can see youtube video from 2014 so you can see the difference like how rapidly sinking:

"The capital is slowly sinking at a rate of seven centimetres every year and experts say half the city will be below sea level by 2030."
